Clean Energy Discussion in Pioneer Valley, MA

E-Democracy.Org is hosting an online community discussion designed to gather input from the public and from key stakeholders in creating the Pioneer Valley’s Five Year Clean Energy Plan. The PVCE-Plan is being developed collaboratively by two regional government commissions: Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (representing Hampshire and Hampden counties) and the Franklin Regional Council of Governments. Funding for the planning process came in part from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative.

Lynn Benander of Co-op Power is responsible for managing the online forum implementation and process. E-Democracy.Org is providing technical support, advice, and hosting services for the event. E-Democracy.Org hopes to use the Clean Energy Plan process to launch a regional Issues Forum in the Pioneer Valley, sometime after the completion of this initiative.

The online discussion was launched on October 2nd and is scheduled to continue through the end of October 2006. For more information, contact Lynn Benander or Tim Erickson.

  1. I just wanted to say how appreciative we all are for the support Tim Erickson has provided our infant forum. He’s helped a great deal designing the forum process as well as providing technical support. We are very excited about having access to a website that so clearly shares the vision and values of the work we’re involved in and to software that so seamlessly links the online forum with people’s email accounts. We’ve gone from zero participants to 175 in the last week. We’re all very happy with the process underway.
